Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Mobile Notary Here
👤 For Customers
Is Mobile Notary Here really free to use?
Yes, 100% free. There is no charge to search for notaries, view profiles, or send booking requests. You only pay the notary directly for their services at the price they set.
How do I find a notary near me?
Use the search bar on our homepage or search page. You can search by city, ZIP code, state, or notary name. You can also filter by service type (loan signing, apostille, RON, etc.).
How do booking requests work?
When you find a notary you'd like to work with, click on their profile and fill out the booking request form with your preferred date, time, location, and the type of service you need. The notary will receive your request and contact you directly to confirm details.
A booking request is not a guaranteed appointment — it's a request that the notary can accept or decline based on their availability.
Do I need to create an account to book a notary?
No. Customers do not need an account. You can search for notaries, view profiles, and send booking requests without registering. Only notary professionals need an account to create and manage their listings.
How do I know if a notary is legitimate?
Each notary's profile shows their commission state, commission number, and expiration date. You can verify this information with your state's Secretary of State office. Notaries with a "Verified" badge have had their commission independently verified. Always ask to see a notary's commission and identification before notarization.
What is a mobile notary?
A mobile notary is a commissioned notary public who travels to your location (home, office, hospital, etc.) to perform notarizations. This is different from a traditional notary who only works from a fixed office location. Most notaries on our platform offer mobile services, indicated by the "Mobile" badge on their profile.
What is RON (Remote Online Notarization)?
RON allows notarizations to be performed online via video call, without the signer and notary being physically present together. Not all states allow RON, and not all notaries are RON-certified. Look for the "RON Certified" badge on notary profiles if you need remote notarization.
✍ For Notary Professionals
Is it really free to list my services?
Yes. Creating a profile, listing your services, setting your prices, and receiving booking requests are all completely free. There are no listing fees, subscription fees, or commissions. You keep 100% of what you charge your clients.
How do I create my profile?
Register for a free account, then complete your profile from the dashboard. Add your commission details, bio, service area, availability, and upload a professional photo. Then go to the Services & Pricing section to enable the services you offer and set your prices.
How do I set my prices?
From your dashboard, go to "Services & Pricing." You'll see a list of all available service types. Enable the ones you offer and enter your price for each. You can also add notes (e.g., "includes 2 signers" or "per page after first 5"). Your prices are displayed publicly on your profile.
How do booking requests work for notaries?
When a customer sends a booking request, it appears on your dashboard and bookings page with the customer's name, contact information, requested service, date, time, and location. You can accept or decline the request. Once accepted, you contact the customer directly to finalize details and provide the service.
How do I get more visibility?
Complete your profile fully — notaries with complete profiles, professional photos, detailed bios, and competitive pricing rank higher in search results. Collect genuine reviews from satisfied clients. Active profiles with recent reviews appear more prominently than inactive ones.
Can I list services in multiple states?
Currently, each profile is associated with one primary state. If you hold commissions in multiple states, you may note this in your bio. Multi-state profile support is a feature under development.
